"War for Edadh is a breath of fresh air, has been well-received worldwide and could turn into a classic."

"I began my search for the holy grail of diceless combat with Metagaming's Microgame Warp War in the early 1980's - yeah, I'm that old! The search has lead me back and forth from abstracts where the outcome of an attack is certain to CCGs which replace the dice with a shuffled card deck, its been fun, but nothing has quite scratched that itch until now...

It all fits together beautifully, and left me chuckling at its sheer cleverness, elegance and it's ability to reflect actual combat. On top of these superb mechanics is a detailed gameworld, brought to life by artwork that is just beautiful."

"I am impressed! Plays much faster than I anticipated...and the second guessing aspect is fantastic and well-done. I have to say; right now, this is my single favorite game. I would choose it over any other 2 player game. . . and even over most multi-player games. It is a masterpiece. It's fun, tactical and open to many future expansions that will grow the game, big-time! Becoming one of my favorite games ever!"

"I must say i was not hugely impressed following your demo in birmingham but my son saw the potential and we've had some good games. We are enjoying it. I am thus a convert - with the terrain and different units it feels like a wargame as much as a card game."

"The great thing about War for Edadh is it's the most like a tabletop war-game you can probably get in a card game. A clever system that has you thinking hard about what and how you play. War for Edadh stands out as a remarkable product."

"One of the cleverest and best balanced games on the market. As a card game, it is portable, and the army selection component and multiple game modes ensure that even after being played repeatedly it still feels fresh. This game is not as light as some of the other games out there, however for a short, competent combat card game this is the best looking and one of the best playing games around with a setting to match."

"Really innovative system...fantastic game...I love it. One of the best games I've played of the year. I really like the combat card system and when you add in all the other different little details it can get really intense yet still you can probably play a game in 30 mins."

"War for Edadh is now one of my top favorite games, and I've played just about every card game there is. The depth, level of strategy, and artwork is what really got me hooked. Even my friends who don't like card games will play War for Edadh. The way you did the instructions was a great idea, I like being able to change the level of difficulty depending on who im playing with. Ive been recomending it to all my friends, and i'll definately be buying all the exspansions as they're released."

"This game is cool! A brilliant game…easy to learn when taken step by step. Unlike many games which you've learnt by the end of your first turn and go downhill from then on, this is a game that rewards continued play. The game has the scope to be a quick 'pick up and play' 15 min game or an in depth 90 minute battle game, and all levels in between. The representation of combat via simple cards with no need to reference charts or tables is incredible and has to be a contender for the game that provides the most fun in the smallest simplest package."

"A finely tuned and surprisingly compelling set of rules...tight mechanics and fascinating gameplay...really tense and exciting.

As you increase the options though, the game really opens up and the range of gameplay becomes extremely impressive. What's more, the game becomes more and more interesting and challenging, and the tension between players can be electric.

I think the game completely stands up to the best that is out there from the majors."

"War for Edađh came to me as a game to review from a small publisher. After a few plays, I'm happy to say that War for Edađh is a major league player that should put WarriorElite Ltd. squarely on the gaming map."

"an awesome game with masses of potential to be something really very interesting and cool. the deeper I delve, the more I find to like and the more drawn in I get. Ideas that feel fresh and innovative are not so easy to come by and WfE (War for Edadh) has them in spades. I love conflict resolution...gameplay that I think is dynamite. War For Edadh is a fantastic strategy card game with the classic, easy to learn but hard to master combination guaranteed to provide hours of fun. It has a lot of depth and massive promise to go further still with planned future releases."

"I enjoyed it immensely...It's hard to stop, and everyone had such a good time with it that all other regular play sessions (and reviews) were set aside for 3 weeks while we enjoyed this. If I had a higher ratings system than 4 stars, this would have gotten 5. Maybe 6. I love this game that much."

"Original, engaging, outstanding. If you have any interest whatsoever in fantasy, war, or strategy gaming of any kind, you need to give this game a try."

"This is one of the best wargame I tried. I've tried some wargames, and I found them too simple, or too complex. This is the right balance, and is very original too, because using a simultaneous choice of card create one of the few chance-less wargame (these two words seem to contradict each other, but in this game is not the case!). I like how lots of wargame factors (terrain, distance, formations, morale, etc.) are integrated in an overall simple manner. I think the fonts are very clear and evocative at the same time. I've also read something about the story/world, and I think this is very original too. In the end, this is a 9 out of 10 for me."

"This is a great game - loads of fun to play, immersive, tons of replayability, strategic and even my girlfriend digs it which is great as I've got an opponent to hand any time! Can't think of a better way to kill an hour or two than with this gem."

"Surprising depth and tactical complexity :-) Well worth the time taken to learn and play."

"My friends and I love the idea and the card stock is good quality. There were some issues regarding the "wispiness" of the font you chose but nothing that we couldn't handle. We love the combat system and look forward to additional add-ons for the game - GREAT JOB. It's a most enjoyable game and one we'll be looking forward to again and again.

You should be proud of War for Edadh - you certainly crafted a unique and clever game."

"I'm really enjoying the game, I do think it's a well thought through system where the random factor is decreased significantly by MP and guard values which you get to know. The combat is far tighter than you might think. Also I like the Mastery Card system that allow you to take risks or use resources (MP) to force an opponent into a position which is unusual for a card game of this sort. No random card pulling here, you know what you have at your disposal and you have to make good use of it."

"This is a fantastic game with original game mechanics and tremendous depth of play. At first glance the thickness of the rule books might look daunting, but the designers have taken a programmed instruction approach to the game which makes getting into the system very approachable. The card art lends itself to the mood of the game."

"Overall, I'm impressed with WfE (War for EdaĐh) as a game. The actual game play is engaging, and has quite a bit of depth to it once you engage the full rule set. There is only a small amount of exception management compared to most wargames (which is what this fundamentally is) and the components do a good job of reminding you of those exceptions. It is obvious that there is more game to come in expansions (there is a whole section in the rulebook on something called "Conflict Cards" which don't exist in the base set)…I'm really impressed with the basic attention to usuability that has gone into the card layouts."

"A very interesting and rather excellent little game. I like the complexities in the system, I think it will really reward replaying."

"A great and satisfying game. One of the great features is seeing a card driven game that almost completely removes luck from the equation, with results coming down to player choices and strategies, not the flip of a card or roll of a die."

"yep... the game rocks hard...man this game is way thrilling. At first glance seems simple but when you get to play the mastery cards trying to spend the fewest MPs and to beat your oponent's one...whoah. War for Edadh is plain genius!"

"One of the best games I've played - the best card game...uniquely awesome! The game play has an innovative and unique combat system that removes the feeling that luck decides the winner."

"Sooo Goooood! Played my first game with the Girlfriend tonight, and we were both struck with the simplicity/complexity balance with the game. It just clicked in our minds after the first round! She got excited with every play of the mastery deck (what you got? what you got?). If we had more time we would have gotten more than just one round in, and she insisted she leave with the art of the apprentice book so that she could get familiarized with the expanded rules in that book right away. And we both have ideas about who to show this game to so that we can get in on the Bro'hood wagon. Congrats on two solid fans right out of the gate! "

"One of my main gaming buddies grabbed a copy of WfE a week ago. HE asked if I wanted to play and well I was more then happy to give it a go. I love trying new games. I have to say after the initial turn was over I was hooked. I love a good game that not only pits you tactically against your opponent but makes you really have to strain your thinking hoping the choice you just made was right. I am so looking forward to getting my own copy, which is currently on its way to me. I have mentioned this game to several people who are (as) interested in giving the game a try as I am at playing it again.

I only hope I do not have too wait to long for the world to expand and more factions and options to open up to me."

"...really enjoyed our first foray into the War of Edadh. I'm really impressed by how you can scale the game as to how involved you want it to be. Play a basic apprentice game or full blown conflict (and many steps in between). I'm sure I've said it before but well done guys!"
