the scroll icon Hello again. Apologies for the time between the last and this version of The Scroll. This time we're taking a look at the Stratagem Cards. These are the cards that allow unit level formations, tactics and ruses to be employed.

news icon Combat Tactics Stratagems represent formations such as Shield Walls, manoeuvres such as having units remain at range, or tactics such as attacking heavily on a flank. Find out about their use in War for Edadh.

There are Wildsman Stratagems that allow you to employ such things as traps or ambushes. Battle Tactics Stratagems represent army level manoeuvres and strategies.

Ash discusses the art and design of these cards. These illustrations are the pencilwork of the card backs.

edadh icon a member of the Nukoyr culture The Nuko'yr
(pronounced new-coe-ear). As promised here's another early, concept sketch of Ash's. This culture of serpentine beings are masters of the wild and feared for valid reasons.

They are known to use poisons and stories abound of them drinking the blood of their defeated foes. Yet some Nuko'yr clans side with the Huaos-Dzaa and others with rebel guerrillas.

edadh icon Races & Cultures. Edadh is a unique, fantasy world. Cultures on the world aren't comprised of just 1 race. A culture can have several races within it.

A bit more detail on how this situation came about can be found in one of Ash's posts.

news icon Defenders: part 4
The Huaos-Dzaa send up a cheer as one after the other the Angueth fall. They move forward with grit determination, through the broken Angueth line; there can only be one outcome now. The profound reality of defeat stares the Angueth in the face, they know they are overcome and with the futility of the skirmish acknowledged they drop shields and run.

As they flee Vaeysa directs his Huaos-Dzaa troops to drop to the marsh. Rifles thunder and belch smoke as the scouts fire over their prone comrades. Two more Angueth fall.

"Up! Up and after them," Vaeysa bellows and his troops take off immediately. Laden with shield and spear they sprint as fast as they can but Vaeysa knows it's a token effort. Sure enough, the Angueth reach the river and one after the other dive into its depths where they can use the murky water to make their escape.
to be continued...
