pronounced ith-ay
Description
Ithei stand at about four feet but are lithe, athletic, and have long prehensile tails. They have tough skin with front and back plates and patches of fur which can grow long and coarse. They are able to breathe water as well as air and are quick and agile in water though they are most commonly associated with living on land. Ithei are as comfortable moving on all fours as they are walking and running upright and can move far quicker when using all four limbs.
Their skin can vary considerably in colour from pale shades of yellow and brown, through reds to greyish-blues and black and they often have unique markings on their bodies.
Ithei have been sighted just as often at night as during the day and they are known to have good night vision.
Creation Myth
Little is known of the origins of the Ithei although it is believed that they, like the Qoya, were created by Luagedd - the originater of evil.
Cultures
There are three Ithei cultures on Edadh. Cih (pronounced key) borders the civilised cultues to the north, Loqa (pronounced lock-er) borders the civilised cultures on the east and Aqqra (pronounced ack-ra) borders the civilised cultures in the south.
